NOKIA JOINS Wireless Lan Association (WLANA) AS NEW MEMBER

Nokia adds their commitment to WLANA's educational effort for wireless local area networking market

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA., June 14, 1999 — The Wireless LAN Association (WLANA), an educational trade association for the wireless local area networking industry, announced today that Nokia has joined WLANA as a member. "The Wireless LAN Association welcomes Nokia to our organization," said Greg DiCillo, managing director of WLANA. "Nokia's commitment to industry growth and their enthusiasm for our educational mission will strengthen WLANA's ability to deliver materials explaining the applications, issues and trends in the wireless local area networking market".

"We feel that Nokia's membership in WLANA will be mutually beneficial," said Vesa Wallden, Vice President Marketing, Nokia Wireless Business Communications. "In the last three years, WLANA has established itself as the recognized source of educational information on the wireless local area networking marketplace. WLANA's industry studies, application stories and white papers provide a service to potential and current users of our products. Joining WLANA is an important step for Nokia in raising industry-wide awareness of wireless LAN technology, while separately Nokia pursues our efforts to promote Nokia's IP Mobility vision."
